For the first time in the BBL, a batsman was run out twice on the same ball.
In the 10th season of the Big Bash League, the Adelaide Strikers' batsman Jack Withald was run out twice off a single ball. It happened in the 9th over of Adelaide's innings against the Sydney Thunders. Withheld was on the non-striker end and Phil Salt was on strike. Salt hit a straight drive on Chris Green's delivery and it hit Green's hand and hit the stumps of the non-striker end. Withdrawal left the crease and was run out for the first time.
The action is not over yet. Salt had left the crease to run until then, and Withald ran towards the wicketkeeper to complete it. Sam Billings showed agility by scoring a second run to Withersfield. Thus for the first time in the BBL a batsman was run out twice on the same ball.
Commentator Brendan Julian then said, "Jack Withrald, what are you doing? You have been run out many times before, but this time you have run out. "
