The Stoinis-Sams pair averaged a world record in T20. The two Aussie stars scored 92 runs in the second T20 of the series in Denedun.

This pair is now the best pair in the history of T20 for the seventh wicket.

Earlier, England's Paul Collingwood and Michael Yardy put on a 91-run stand at the Oval against the West Indies in 2006.

Stoinis and Sam broke the Collingwood-Yardy world record by just one run more.

However, they could not avoid the defeat of the team even after setting such a world record. Australia lost to New Zealand by just 4 runs.

New Zealand batted first and threw a mountainous target of 220 runs to the Aussie pacers.

Kiwi opener Martin Guptill was the master of such a big score. He played a tornado innings of 96 runs off 50 balls with 6 boundaries and 6 sixes.

Captain Ken Williamson made 53 off 35 balls before being bowled in the jumper spin. In the end, all-rounder Jimmy Neesham's 45-run (not out) innings brought a huge collection to the Kiwis.

Australia was going great to chase the big goal. After 12 overs, Australia needed 113 runs from 48 balls to win.

Even though the target was big, the way John Phillips and Marcus Stoinis were batting at the crease, it looked like Australia would win the match.

But in one over everything turned upside down. They lost 3 wickets to add 6 runs in the 13th over.

Kiwi spinner Mitchell Santner put the hosts under pressure from a great over.

At the end of 13 overs, Australia collected 113 runs for 8 wickets. Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sam took the helm of the team at this time.

Stoinis-Sams made a 92-run stand off 36 balls for the seventh wicket in a four-six storm. Their pair gave the hosts hope to win again.

Match luck in the last over. And in that over, the Australian snatched the skillful smile of Kiwi all-rounder Jimmy Neesham.

Australia needed 15 runs to win the last over. Batsman Sams-Stoinis at the crease. In fact, 15 runs from 8 balls was not impossible for Australia at all. But Nisham did not let it happen anymore.

Sams were bowled out for 92 in the first over. Sams returned to the dressing room with 45 runs off 15 balls.

Stoinis also got out in the fifth ball. Stoinis' 6-run innings stopped with 36 balls.

As a result, Australia also stopped for 215 runs for 8 wickets.
