In the international cricket arena, there are many talented cricketers. However, there are times that some talented cricketers were never able to represent their nation at the international level. There are a number of cricketers who have played and performed admirably well in domestic cricket matches but have never been given the opportunity to play in an international match because other players were performing better, or their luck never favored at all.

I'm going to write about Farhad Hossain, a Bangladeshi talented cricketer who never played international cricket.

Farhad Hossain made his debut for Rajshahi Division in the 2004/5 season. He had scored 903 first-class runs at an average of 27.36 with five 50s and a top score of 79 against Barisal Division by the end of the 2006/7 season. With his off break bowling, he had 25 wickets at an average of 22.92, with a best of 4/50 against Chittagong Division. From 2008-09 to 2011-12, Rajshahi Division won the National Cricket League four times in a row, and Farhad Hossain was one of their key performers in this period, scoring 2206 runs at an average of 46.93, with five centuries.

Scoring more than 8500 runs in first-class (17 hundreds & 43 fifties) and 2200 runs (14 fifties) in List A matches seems not enough for Farhad Hossain to convince selectors to give him any chance for international level. However, by never picking Farhad Hossain, Bangladesh team also deprived of possibly one of their best ever talented cricketer.
