Yesterday (07-01-2025), there were two BPL matches at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The first match was between Dhaka Capitals and Rangpur Riders. The second match was held between the home team, Sylhet Sixers vs Fortune Barisal. But the scenario was different. Those 2 matches were a very low-scoring match.

In the first match, Rangpur Riders Skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan won the toss and chose to field first. The Capital's two openers, local boy Habibur Rahman and English opener Jason Roy came to bat. From the first three overs, they scored 28 runs on the board. After the fall of Habibur Rahman, Jason Roy, and Tanzid Hassan made a good partnership in the powerplay. They scored 54 runs before Jason Roy got out in the last ball of the powerplay.

Later the Capital's couldn’t go far. Regular wicket-falling led them to end their innings with a little 113 runs on the board. Rangpur's seamer Nahid Rana took 3 wickets and conceded only 21 runs from his four overs.

In response, another dashing English opener, Alex Hales scored 44 runs from 27 balls and made it comfortable for Rongpur to secure the victory.

In the second match, Barisal captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and invited the home team, Sylhet, to bat first. Sylhet's batting lineup struggled from the beginning of their innings. Non of their batters played a remarkable inning to be mentioned. Pakistani young sensation Jahandad Khan took 3 wickets for Barisal.

In the chase, after the fall of Tamim Iqbal at the very first bowl of the innings and Najmul Hussain Shanto in the second over, Caribbean all-rounder Kyle Mayers and local sensation Towhid Hridoy played some extraordinary shots and completed the chase within the 11th over.
