There were two matches left in round 3 for Group B. Which was played between Rahmatganj vs Chittagong Abahani, and Dhaka Abahani vs Fakirerpool Young Mens. Both Rahmatganj and Dhaka Abahani beat their opponent with a 3-0 margin. With that victory, both teams now have 9 points from three matches with their name. Rahmatganj is leading the table for a fantastic +10 goal difference. Dhaka Abahani is in the second position with a +7 goal difference. In the last round, they will face each other to be the group leader and get an extra opportunity for this edition’s hybrid model.
Dhaka Abahani and Rahmatganj, both teams are in a strong defensive shape. None of them have conceded a single goal in this tournament yet. Furthermore, Rahmatganj has scored 10 goals and Dhaka Abahani has scored 7 goals from 3 matches. Another match in this group will be played between Dhaka Mohammedan and Fakirerpul Young Men.
However, the most exciting part of this year was the two matches in Group A. Where Bashundhara Kings' opponent was Dhaka Wonders Club and Brothers Union's opponent was Police Club. The equation was quite simple and complicated. Bashundhara Kings was in third position. They had 6 points. On the other hand, Brothers Union also had 6 points. But they were in second position because they were ahead by a goal difference. Fortis FC was on the top with 7 points. But they had no matches left. So their equation for going to the next round depended on the rest of the teams. Bashundhara Kings kind of crushed Dhaka Wonders. They won by a 5-0 margin. On the other hand, the match between Brothers Union and Police Club ended in a goalless draw. If the Police could have beaten BU, they could have had a chance. But in that case, they needed to win by at least 4-0 goals. Due to the draw, they finished the mission at number 4 on the leaderboard with 5 points with their name. On the other hand, despite drawing and getting 1 point, with equal 7 points, Brothers Union was ahead on goal difference, leaving Fortis FC behind in 3rd place and qualified for the next round. Where their opponent will be the runner-up team of Group B. Bashundhara Kings, champion of Group A will face the champion team of Group B.
