Scorched Earth

Making my last post on Steem upstairs on my iPad. My GF just found out everyone at her company is taking a 40% pay-cut for 2 months to avoid mass layoffs. Pretty cool story, amirite?

I've looked through a diff of the code on Gitlab and the important, most controversial part of the Hive fork are the accounts which will not be included in the Hive airdrop. That means the accounts will exist on the Hive chain, but their balances will be moved to steem.dao (this will most likely be renamed to a hive account at some point in the future).

Exclude accounts who voted a minimum of two sockpuppets and who didn't unvote before the hive announcement with more than 1k sp

WOW

That's a bit different from the original statement.

The only accounts who will not be included in the initial airdrop are those containing the Steemit Inc ninja-mined stake, and those who actively contributed to (and publicly declared support for) the centralization of the Steem Blockchain.

Way to lead off with a policy that makes you look like bait and switch dictators. Of course, I support scorched earth, but I would have been more forthcoming. We don't want to give the naysayers more ammo.

Remember that there can be no other fork; no other option. This community is simply too small and has too little resources for such competition.

After much discussion and debate, I decided to move forward because I've been told if any of the excluded accounts feel they were improperly treated, they can submit a proposal on the Hive chain to have Hive funds equal to their Steem funds at the time of the fork distributed to them. Of course, those with Hive tokens would have to agree and support their proposal (which I find very unlikely), but it does, at least, create an opportunity for them if that's the right path forward.

I might support some of these denied airdrops depending on the circumstances. What about you?

333 accounts are locked out of Hive.

Well it's been a long day and I need to wake up early to dump my ex-girlfriend Steem at 7AM. It was an abusive relationship anyway.

See you on the other side!

Yeah, it is pretty insane they are locking those accounts and them taking the funds and putting in the DAO which they will feed themselves with. It is like I have said before. It is all about control and power

The story of how the new ninja mine was created...

It is a lot of accounts, but that quote about publicly declaring alliance to sun - unless they were going to read all the posts, the only way to know would be through who they voted for witness.

I don't see justinsunsteemit or ned in that list, which is interesting.

I might support some of these denied airdrops depending on the circumstances.

Do you mean the accounts that are in the list ? I think, as you said, if they come for good, then everyone should support them.

This is a very interesting observation. Hmmm
Did you check their accounts on Hive.io to see if they were airdropped Hive?

It is a pretty harsh list of accounts there.

You backed the wrong winner, and your stake is now forfeit. Also, we're keeping the massive honeypot that's been a point of contention for 4 years.
This DAO better be bulletproof.

So it isn’t sent to null? It isn’t forked off chain? It just changed hands?
