About Asimov's "Foundation Series"
The Foundation series is a science fiction book series written by American author Isaac Asimov.
First published as a series of short stories in 1942–50, and subsequently in three collections in 1951–53, for thirty years the series was a trilogy: Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation.
It won the one-time Hugo Award for "Best All-Time Series" in 1966.
Asimov began adding new volumes in 1981, with two sequels: Foundation's Edge and Foundation and Earth, and two prequels: Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation.
The additions made reference to events in Asimov's Robot and Empire series, indicating that they were also set in the same fictional universe.

Asimov's "Foundation Series" is REALLY the foundation...
Aside from being my favorite Sci-Fi book series, Asimov's "Foundation Series" profoundly influenced all the succeeding significant works of Science Fiction (e.g., Dune, Blade Runner, Battle Star Gallactica, and many more).
Millions of Sci-Fi lovers have wanted a movie production of the "Foundation Series" for decades; but the state of film technology prevented any serious undertaking.
This is not the case anymore...
Apple TV wants to tackle the film project; knowing full well that fans around the globe are eagerly awaiting its release, expect a high level of film-making that's on par with or above "Avatar" and hope its producers pay true homage to the books.

Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.
In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).

Great to hear from you too!
My hiatus from posting was largely due to the adoption of a few new hobbies (Lambda Calculus, mastering different functional programming languages, Deep Learning theory and AI construction, Quantum Computing, Raising and Selling Poultry, Heliciculture (snail farming) and as a favor to a friend - a hesitant return to Freelance Ghost Writing.
Since you recommended it, I will surely investigate alll things "HIVE".
