I needed a spice rack. So, just like _Wood Girl _I built it!
My first Dado cuts on the table saw. And yes, free palette wood and some cedar dowels. I'm happy enough with the results.
I also needed a small shelf for my eastern spices so I made another shelf. This one is mounted with Dado also and I used the modest vinegar and rusty nail stain and then wiped in the orange oil and beeswax. Pennies for this method...
I mounted it above my oldest possession which is a picture of a rural community in Asia...Hmmm...
And this property has Comfrey, too, so another batch of Salve...
"Wow, you're a true DIY rockstar! 😊 Your spice rack and shelf look amazing, and I love the details you shared about the process. The fact that you used free palette wood and cedar dowels is super impressive too! 🌿️
I'm curious, what's your favorite part about working with woodworking? And have you tried making anything else recently? We'd love to hear more about it!

I'm senior and disabled and have been a labourer throughout my life. So this keeps me sane when it comes to being active.
Cheers!
