One of the few kits available of the HO 229 in 1/72. I am not normally a builder of Revell kits, in fact if I am honest I tend to avoid them if there is a better option. In this case this kit happened to be the best available. That said it is not a total nightmare of a kit, the shape is correct even if the cockpit and weapons details are incorrect.
One thing they managed to capture is how the actual plane was built. Ok so the details are simplified for a model kit made theses days but when the kit came out (approx. 20 years ago), this would have been quite a nice feature.
The real prototype aircraft was designed to make the most of available materials at the time. One of those materials in short supply was aluminium, the other main material used in the construction was plywood. The center section of the aircraft frame was aluminium and mated to this were the wings made mostly from plywood. The kit assembly represents this quite well.
Above I am using clothes pegs to hold the wing pieces together whilst they dry.
Here we have all the pieces ready for painting. I paint the interior and put it together. The interior is fairly plain so I won't bother to show it to you. The construction is fairly simple however I need to use a little putty where the wings joined the fuselage. Once this is sanded back all I need to do then is add the last pieces (landing gear doors), and start painting the underside :-)
Below you can see the first basic coat using Mr Hobby RLM 02 acrylic paint. More to follow very soon :-)
As always I would like to send a massive thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to like, comment and resteem my blog. I really appreciate all the help. Until next time :-)

Why don't you like those kits?
Do you have a room in your house that's like a little museum with all your models in them XD

That does look like a decent kit. I might have to see if I can find one of those.
I read somewhere that if the Luftwaffe would have had these operational for combat duty, the British land based radar would have had a hard time picking them up at any distance. They would have been the first stealth plane.
