Also, I have an irrational belief that if I obsess about the things that could happen, they won't. But if I ever forget to think of one, then it will. I literally believe I have the ability to will disaster into being just by not thinking of it.

Chapter one. Get dressed and leave the house

Chapter two. Lift to train station

Chapter three. A very busy evening in the store

Chapter four. The long night

Chapter five. I wish I'd put a shower in the shop

Chapter six. My lift appears to have forgotten the day. Three thirty comes and goes. Four comes and goes. That's why we build redundancy into our plans. I do hope he hasn't been eaten by trolls!

Chapter seven. Walk to train station. Nominally - and I do mean nominally - there's a train every twenty minutes. But most are cancelled, because that's the country I live in now.

Chapter eight. Having planned to leave the shop four and a half hours before my flight, I'm now three hours before my flight. This is the first the world now apparently, as the only reason we weren't buying our body weight of duty free was we weren't trapped in the concourse for long enough. I have my covid vacc documents in quintriplicate, all my files printed out and everything fits into one small carry on. Time for some more caffeine.

It's fine. So far my redundancy has held firm. I am fourteen hours in.
