Notice the little "grotto" i made on the side? This female betta loves this place and she has claimed this as her territory!

Aqua-scaping has always been one of my passion!

Started off with a small 5-gallon tank a year ago and now I have in total 3 tanks. In this post, I will be focusing on the transformation of my previous 24-gallon planted aquarium from gravel base to soil base. The purpose of this is so that my plants in the aquarium will flourish better as well as able to plant many other types of aquatic plants. I won't be elaborating on the types of plants and fishes in this post, will make another one just on that.

When it was still on the gravel base

Cleared them out entirely

I have also purchased a CO2 Kit, which is essential for steady growth of the plants

Next step, filling them up with ADA Amazonia Soil

Next step, placing the main structure of the tank, which is this wood which I have glued on some plants to it.

Next step, adding more plants in

Filling them with water slowly and wait till the soil settles down a little.

After about 6 hours and placed my fishes and snails in.

After a day, Ta-Da! (added more plants, as you can see)

This one shows the CO2 bubbling

What do you think? I could still work on my arrangements. They are a little messy. Ha-Ha.

Should have a community for this hobby. Nice aquarium! Recently i saw a facebook video about growing corals at home. they said it's lucrative. can buy bitcoins just doing that lol

Thank you, man! Yes, there should be a community for this. Perhaps I should start one, if there isn't already.
Corals? Lucrative? wow, I should look into that. I have zero knowledge of salt-water aquarium yet, but would love to explore them one day. Perhaps when I make more from Steemit, ha-ha. Coral tanks can be very expensive. I just didn't know it can be a business too. Thank again buddy for the compliment on my aquarium.

This is awesome! @kevinwong mentioned you in a reply, and glad he did. Awesome job with the tank! I dig the real plants, kutos to that. Maybe i'll try the real plants myself one day. Best of luck with the fish!

Nice! Yes, real plants are great, especially when you see them grow well, and the fishes happy. I am facing some algae issues tho..just got myself some shrimps to do the clearing! Hope they help

That was my thoughts I have a really small tank wonder if it would work only 10 gallons but with shrimp.... 🤔 that's a great idea. Except my catfish would eat the shrimp as snacks like it originally did few months back haha.

If you are going for a planted tank, I would suggest you get another tank for it. At least a 24gallon one. Leave the catfish in this current 10-gallon tank. A Planted tank is awesome, really.
