Preparing The Board.
This is the start of my long-term project of building a model railway in my shed. Just got delivery of the base board which is 4ft x 8ft, as you can see from the photograph it is quite large, so I am considering cutting this down to just over 4ft x 6ft. (Possible 6.5ft)
The next step, after cutting will be adding braces to strengthen the board, this will be done with 2x1 lengths of wood, which I will first glue and then screw down, this will create some stability and also allow me to fix on top of the table top.
I am still awaiting for a job lot of train track, trains, scenery, rolling stock and buildings, once these arrive I will outline the first (outer) radius of the track and then plan the overall layout.
Hope to have another update for you soon.
Thanks for reading.
