The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+

in hobby •  3 years ago

I acquired my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ last 23 Aug 2019; that's roughly about a year and a quarter ago from the date that I'm writing this mini-article/mini-blog. This model generally fits my personality. I'm a person who is fond of writing. I've fluid thoughts and imagination especially when I'm translating my ideas into writing using the pen-and-paper style. There are times when typing (whether with a smartphone, a tablet, or a laptop/computer) also helps me scribe my thoughts but, more often than not, I'll be stuck at one point; i.e. will have a mental block.

I thought that with the stylus that comes along with the Note 10+, I'll be able to do what I'm fond of doing even if I'm executing the action using a smartphone. I was wrong. My assumption was proven false. A smartphone, given its size, is not really intended for writers who prefer to use the "pen-and-paper" approach. Let me repeat what I wrote in the previous paragraph : "This model generally fits my personality.". The operative word here is the term "generally." I'm quite delighted to use the stylus of this device to write quick notes; to operate some functionalities; to go about the screens; etc. Generally, the "stylus" makes me feel as if I'm writing on a pad paper. Operating the phone using the "stylus" somehow simulates the experience of doodling or writing on a paper. That is the context why I wrote above that this model generally fits my personality. Most of the times, I translate into writing almost every thought that I have; e.g. having a journal, having some doodles, having some quick drafts of a portion of a story, or the likes.

I'm happy with the Galaxy Note 10+. Though at the moment, the device is already showing signs of mild deterioration, I understand that these are anticipated because a device, sooner or later, will reach its maximum lifespan. I'm not really a heavy user of a smartphone. I use this typically for playing games, checking of emails, browsing of the internet, watching movies, listening to music, conversing through a phone call, interacting through the social media, or the likes. I may be a "heavy user" in the sense that I'm using this everyday; almost every two hours; but I don't think that I should be really considered as a heavy user because I don't really use nor operate this Galaxy Note 10+ almost the entire day. I still set boundaries. I still have control as to when should I resist using the smartphone to avoid losing productive hours nor losing a personal time intended for a "real world activity."

Nevertheless, I'm not a closed-minded person. An android-type smartphone like the Note 10+ may be a good device; it's not considered as the best in the market. I don't think there is a smartphone that can be considered as the best. Each one of them has advantages and disadvantages. To be fair to any brand or model, we can still use the term "best" in the aspect that the model will "best suit your personality", will "best suit what you need", will "best suit what you want", will "best suit your lifestyle", or the likes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ generally suits my personality. It has a design and a set of functionalities that fit my expectations with respect to one of my many hobbies; i.e. writing. As of this writing (and, likely, in the years to come after this mini-blog/mini-article was posted), there will be new models from Samsung. Possibly, there will be a new flagship device. Am I willing to invest in another Samsung device? Of course. Am I going to always pick Samsung as my "go-to-brand", not necessarily but Samsung, likely, will be among those that shall be considered as options. Am I willing to recommend Samsung to others? Yes. Samsung, at large, produces good devices.
