Hodl Heroes and The Pursuit of Lambo Land

I don't know about you, but the crypto crowd seem to have set the bar very high for themselves. Yes, I know, they speak of 'Lambo Land' half jokingly, but is there an underlying expectation that if you don't get rich from crypto, you've failed?

Would anyone be content with doubling their investment? Even tripling it? Or do we all have #tigermum 's staring over our shoulders demanding "Why no A+?"?

What is it about crypto that makes selling our investments and cashing out with a couple of hundred, or even thousand, and paying off the bills, buying a slightly better car, or going on a holiday, such a failure?

If you're the guy or girl that sold 'just before it went to the moon' but you still came out with some decent cash, then who am I to tell you that you've failed? If I told you 6 months/years ago that you'd get $2,000 from online investing for 4 weeks, you wouldn't believe me!

So let me be the first to say, if you lose money, that sucks, but at least you tried. Maybe one day you'll try again and you'll do things differently and it will work. If you make money, that's sick! Well done. I hope it makes a difference in your life and you look back at your time in crypto with good memories.

But if you 'hodl', and continue to do so even though you've got a family who needs bills paid, or friends who are behind on their rent, or kids who are going without Christmas presents, then who are you trying to be a hero for? Let's not continue to push a culture that forces men and women with real bills, real families, and real circumstances to sacrifice it all for the online applause of other hodlers. Hodl, cash out, put it all in Ripple I don't care, you know your situation, you're the best judge. Let's be honest about this game, you're just as likely to have to tell your family "It's gone" as "Tan or black interior?".
