I wrote an essay on what it's like living in LA. I hope you like it.
Living in Los Angeles has its advantages and disadvantages. To me, Los Angeles will always be my home and I will never call another city my home. Living in Los Angeles can bring you happiness and comfort with the well-established areas you choose to live in. Los Angeles is also the mecca for the different food cultures it has to offer. However, with that being said, Los Angeles is one of the most crowded cities to live in, with the traffic and the over population makes it sometimes undesirable to choose to live here.
Living in Los Angeles can be frustrating with the LA traffic. Its freeways are always packed and make you sometimes think why you would even live in such a place. Collisions, small narrow roads, and angry drivers make me hate Los Angeles sometimes and wish my parents never came to this city. Be prepared to spend hours sometimes on the freeways just to go to your job or school with countless of other drivers not even letting you switch lanes. It is said that an average Los Angeles commuter spends more than fifty-six hours a year stuck in traffic, that’s more than two whole days, and that’s not counting the drivers who drive more than twenty miles a day. It once took me about three hours to drive from Hollywood to Manhattan Beach to visit my friend. This epic long journey made me loose my mind with the countless drivers vigorously honking and stopping every two seconds. There is no way around the awful traffic unless you commute with metro, but taking the metro is nothing like driving. The traffic in Los Angeles is the only disadvantage about living here.
It’s no joke that Los Angeles has some of the most beautiful areas to live in. Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Studio City are considered to be some of the most beautiful areas to reside in Los Angeles. The mountain views of West Hollywood takes your breath away and the beautiful views of Malibu beach melts your heart and makes you wish you can freeze time for just a minute and be one with the ocean. If you are looking for scenery, there are plenty of areas of Los Angeles to choose to live in, weather if you are into mountains, the ocean, the nightlife, or even downtown where the lights in the night mesmerize your eyes. However, choosing to live in one of these areas are more expensive, but it is worth it. I have many favorite areas of Los Angeles. I love Redondo Beach, with its incredible ocean breezes where you hear the waves over powering the chants from the seagulls and it’s amazing hotels facing the view of the majestic ocean, it truly is one of the most enchanting areas in Los Angeles. If you are planning to live in Los Angeles, you have many great areas to choose to live in.
Everyone knows that Los Angeles is the crown jewel for the food culture and has the best foods, not just in America, but also in the whole world. There are restaurants by the thousands around all of LA, and one is better than the other. There is Italian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, American, Japanese, Thai, Vietnams, Chinese, Mongolian, Indian and much more. The food scene in Los Angeles is a phenomena and it always brings visitors back. You are definitely going to be happy if you live in Los Angeles and you love food. If restaurants are not your thing, you can always try food trucks. Food trucks are becoming popular in the Los Angeles area. People are raving about these trucks and personally I will vouch for the trucks and say they are pretty good. The Los Angeles food scene is amazing and if you decide to live in LA, you will love the food.
The great city of Los Angeles is an amazing place to call home for me. Although the traffic can be hectic and unforgiving, the areas with the beautiful scenery and the remarkable food scene drive me to want to live here forever. I will personally say that there is no place like Los Angeles and you will not be disappointed if you choose to live here.
Oh how nice
