This twelve weeks of fitness (unlike the twelve days of Christmas) is something that doesn't really keep giving, unless you're eager to accept a gift of sweaty, and definitely smelly active wear from a large, hairy man.
If I could measure the fluid ounces of sweat, and the chemical composition, pH, and other scienticious variables, I would. All data is good data. All measurements are good measurements.
Measurements show change.

Measurements, when referred to the human form, are usually a quick identifier of how fit, buff, hot or sexy someone might be. I'm clearly none of those things, but let's literally objectify me with a series of numbers, the sort that a tailor could use to make me a straight jacket.
Region | Starting | 16 August | Change | Percent Change |
---|---|---|---|---|
Chest | 109 | 105 | 4 | -3.67% |
Arms | 35 | 32 | 3 | -8.57% |
Hips | 109 | 104 | 5 | -4.59% |
Waist | 113 | 103 | 10 | -8.85% |
Thighs | 66 | 61 | 5 | -7.58% |
All measurements are centimeters, because I live in Australia where we use the metric system, unlike you crazy lawless savages from states united.
Overall, I am smaller by a staggering 6.65%. Interestingly, I don't think this coincides with the weight loss that I have experienced so far, which would probably indicate that I've seen some muscle grow, too.
Start | 14/8 | Difference | Change |
---|---|---|---|
112.5 | 109 | 3.5 | -3.11% |
That's a good assumption. I've lost 6% size, but 3% body mass. Someone who knows more about physiology can tell me if that means that I'm leaner, or more muscular.
I know one thing is certain - I feel better.
Pushing myself out of comfort zone, and changing my life style (including my diet) has had its drawbacks (remember, I love pizza) - but the way I see it, the time I spend in the gym will allow me to spoil myself every now and then.
I just have to be consistent.
That was the end of week eight.
Well done!! 🙌🎉 feeling better is always an awesome thing, especially after working hard for it!
I’m going to a Muay Thai class on Monday...not sure that I’ll track my journey but keen to be fitter and stronger!!

It sneaks up on you. Just means the next time I get a cold, I'll feel like I'm actually dying.

Fitness can take a long time, years even. But I think you're on the right track. Keep going.

That's the plan. :) I won't be able to use my muscles and bones and nerve endings forever.
