I'm homeless but not forgotten

This seems... suspicious. It might be wrapped in good-will but this smells fishy.

>note from editor: creationlayer. (I am a trusted member in the Bitcoin community and will transfer cash to Brook) I met Brook Demar at the gas station getting some coffee.

How do we know you're creationlayer? You provide no proof aside from a LinkedIn link.

What makes you a trusted member of the Bitcoin community? You provided no posts and no reason for why you're trusted.

Why can't this man go to a local library? If it's because he doesn't know how to use a computer, why don't you show him? "Teach a man to fish"

Some of the writing doesn't make a lot of sense. Didn't this guy claim to be a writer?

>I turned down an appointment with the marines to go to the naval academy to take care of my mom. My dad called me a deputy sheriff when I was growing up.

His Dad called him a "deputy sheriff"? What?

>I am overwhelmed with this support, and it will take me some time to fully process funds, but I think it's better to help with the basics rather than just hand over the lump sum which he agreed

What do you mean you aren't giving him a lump sum? What are you going to be doing with the money in the meantime? When will Brook receive all the funds?

>I've done a lot of work, I worked at SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center), building tunnels there. I worked on a lot of inventions a light weight battery for car batteries, I worked on an electromagnet engine drive motor, I invented a ball cup curve cap flotation system for buildings that sit on the four corners of the foundation.

Did he file patents for these inventions? If so, there should be a record of them.

Story smells fishy and and I'd be skeptical of it's validity without further verification.

EDIT:

>We will then go to the apple store and pick out a tablet.

Why are you buying that when spending it on something like a traditional laptop, 2in1 laptop, or even an Android tablet would likely have proven better options because they'd be more useful (I imagine typing on a iPad keyboard isn't so great.) and less expensive.

There are over 200 comments on this at the time I'm writing this, of those ~200 comments, only about 5-6 of them have anything remotely questioning the validity of this article.

Shouldn't we be a bit more skeptical as a community? This is the internet after all and nobody would tell a lie on the internet (Especially when lying means they might make a lot of money).

I'd like to chime in.

Creation Layer is a member of stakepool. We have been speaking with creation layer on some of the ethical questions raised here. I think creationlayer is going well out of his way to help this brook when he doesn't have to.

Further if you have questions. You should come onto the stakepool teamspeak server and speak with him directly.
The address is ts.stakepool.com .

I certainly understand your skepticism. We all had the same questions.

While I appreciate the invite to your TS, if you have any evidence this isn't fake, it should be posted publicly.

There isn't an "#introduceyourself" for the original poster ("creationlayer" under the account brookdemar) or for yourself so neither of you have verified who you say you are.

If you're looking for legitimacy then I'd start there and then work on answering some of the other questions that are posed here.
