Have you ever heard the word homeopathy?
Homeopathy means medical treatment that treats illness with poison. For example, when you are stung by a bee, you can treat it by drinking water diluted with bee venom.
History of homeopathy
When a scientist drank a substance called quinine, a drug for malaria, he said he had symptoms similar to malaria. From this, the hypothesis was established that "a substance that induces a certain disease can also be a substance that cures the disease."
Having said that, drinking poison is a nuisance, so the researcher made the poison very diluted, and then moistened the detoxified, wave-remaining diluted water with sugar granules to make it a medicine. This is called remedy and is the basis of homeopathy.
Giving the remedy to those suffering from illness made some sick, but many were better off, convinced that homeopathy was effective. The more diluted it was, the better the remedy was, so more and more diluted remedies were made.
The fact that the vibration remains is a smoky thing, but it is a fact that was actually in the history of the past. Napoleon was also treated with this remedy, and homeopathic hospitals were opened in every city. In the United States, the homeopathic industry boasted $ 1 billion in sales in 2000.
Homeopathy = Suspicious Pseudoscience
That said, this is a pseudoscience and it is unlikely that the disease will actually be cured. Then, there are three major problems, such as "Why is it non-toxic even though it uses poison", "What is the actual effect?", "What are the advantages and disadvantages of homeopathy?"
The reason why it is non-toxic even though it uses poison is not because it is diluted to the extent that it has no effect, but because it is too diluted and the presence of poison is in an endless amount. There are various venoms, such as mercury, arsenic, aconite, snake venom, scorpion venom, and bee venom, but even if you make a remedy using these as mother liquor, it is too diluted and contains even one venom atom. It will be in a state of not being.
It is also a lie that water remembers the vibrations and stores energy, and there is no scientific basis for the phenomenon that rice cooked with a piece of paper that says "Thank you" becomes delicious.
It is also said to have a placebo effect, and if you take an ineffective drug because it is a drug, you may actually improve your illness. This is a belief.
The advantage of homeopathy is that it is harmless because it is just water, and the placebo effect can make you feel better, and the disadvantage is that you believe in homeopathy so much that you do not receive other treatments. Illnesses that may have helped with early symptoms may be too late due to the focus on homeopathic treatment. And when it's too late, there's a vicious cycle of focusing on even more weird treatments. I can't believe standard medical care now. In this way, losing the opportunity to cure the illness is probably the biggest disadvantage.
Convenient word = "improvement reaction"
A convenient term used by vendors who recommend pseudoscience is the term "improvement reaction." This means that you may feel sick temporarily as a precursor to your illness, and you lie that you are actually getting worse but you are getting better. This word makes us believe that pseudoscience is effective whether the disease gets better or worse.
There are associations such as the Japan Homeopathy Association in Japan, but police investigations are being conducted on suspicion of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. In some cases, a doctor who recommended a remedy to a child was arrested.
It's a pseudoscience, so don't go deep.
