Hello, my name is Joshua. I am The Homeschool Kid.
Today I am going to give you a homeschool book report of "Tumbledown Mountain" by Elizabeth Coatsworth.
Tumbledown Mountain is a book that I read for school. It tells a story about a boy named Randall who lived way out in the country. His mom had him ride down the mountain on a mule to get to a mill because she needed ground corn to make cornbread. In the process, he met a new friend and had other adventurers.
I don't have a mule, but this is my cow Truffle.
When Randall got down to the mill, he heard a truck drive by. Because he had never seen or heard a truck before, he said, "What was that loud noise?" Then the miller said, "It was a truck." Randall said, "I have heard of trucks, but I have never seen or heard one before."
Then the miller took him to the other side of mill, and right there was the road. Randall thought that was so cool! He always wanted to have the road come up to his home and now it was almost there!
I don't think I would be so excited if the pavement came up to our property because then this mountain would turn into a city, and I don't like cities. I like our homestead more than the city because on our homestead you can run around in the woods. But you can't do that in the city.
I highly recommend you read this book.

You are a smart little kid. I like your cow Truffle and your sheep.
I totally agree with you, I like the mountain and the countryside better than the cities.
I remember when I was about your age, I would visit my grandma in a small village where we would walk on the dirt roads that were not paved and I really like that. But when I went back there after a long time, the roads were paved and I really did not like that, I missed the old gravel like dirt roads we walked on.

I was homeschooled. I love book reports. I really love farms. Too many people are running away from farms. They should be running the other direction haha. Good report. Good book. So much we can learn from these books. I'm Oatmeal.
