Adventures in Homeschooling/Unschooling Week 2

This was a tough week over all. My patience was tried to the extents I havent seen since my time in the military. Here are some of the positive highlights from this week.

Working on some building skills:

Working on letters:

Moose Mountain Hike:

The path to get to the top was on the backside of this boulder:

Positively identifying an edible plant from our yard. Looks like we found some Autumn Berry.

My wife and I discussed how this week went and we both agreed that sitting down and doing book work sucks. I have found my ability to "teach" is best done by going out and doing versus sitting down and regurgitating. My shift will be more activity and less books in a "class" like environment. Having a field guide or instruction booklet has more use than sitting at a table being forced to read or write.

This is an opinion of course because everyone has their own approach. Enjoy your journey, share your experiences!
