Homes on the Road #6 - Natalie, Fatih and Hannah

in homesontheroad •  7 years ago  (edited)

Welcome to the 6th edition of my series #homesontheroad about people living in freedom in mobile homes!

Today we meet

Natalie, Fatih and Hannah

in Barragem Santa Clara, Portugal

Natalie (28) and Fatih (35) are both from Austria (though Fatih's parents are Turkish). They have the daughter Hannah on 2.
They had a home in Austria until March this year, but decided to leave the house, move into the van and follow the sun South to Portugal!
Their current home is an old firetruck which they converted to their mobile home.

It's a small van, and inside living space is small, but they don't mind, since they spend almost all their time outside!

Even the kitchen comes out on this super smart pull out drawer, made with roller blade wheels, that Fatih made.

They are planning on spending most of the year in the South, but come back to Austria in the Autumn, to work a bit and be parts of different projects. Fatih is working in a social project and Natalie is a writer and a dancer - she teaches dance and is also involved in Theater performances, but primarily she wants to work on her next book!
She already published one book - "Der Kauz" under the artist name Simon Guerel - with fictional short stories, based on experiences and inspiration from her own life and travels.

The new book will also be short stories mixed with poetry.
She writes in German, so if there are any German readers out there - you should check out her writings at www.simonguerel.at!

Space to write, to be a part of creative projects and also to have connection to family, especially for Hannah is an important thing for the family, so their vision is to stay half of the year stable around Vienna and the other half travelling.

It was very nice to meet and spend some time with Natalie, Fatih and Hannah! Here above from Odemira with Ramona and Ida who will be the next family in this series!

Hi Freja,

Glad to see that you're continuing this entertaining and interesting series. I love that rollerblade kitchen!

I really like the way you describe this story, even more because these people sound so interesting and creative.

Have you told Natalie that she would fit on Steemit perfectly?

A hug from Parque de Campismo, Serpins,

Vincent

P.S. You take beautiful pictures :>)

Yes I have! I did try to convince her to get on steemit, and she said she would try to give it a go, but I don't know if she applied yet! But that was exactly my thought too, especially because she was trying to make money on her writing but gets paid less than a euro per book she sells! Fuck the publisher, get on steemit ;D

Cool!

and yes

Fuck the publisher, get on steemit ;D

I totally agree wit that :>)

What a good little series. Cheered I up. Following x

Hell.. I'm resteeming!! Good effort!!

Cheers. If you dig down in my feed I have a few live in vehicle posts!

How awesome! It would be great to live like this! How many adventures do you get to go on?

Personally we live like this. We dont have a stable home, just the camper. I am gonna do one post about our own mobile home soon too ☺ many adventures! Now we are in north of spain, heading to France!

hey nice to meet some other lovely folk, thank you @frejafri xx

Homes on the road must be an amazing experience! We love our homesteading life but often wonder what it would be like to have a tiny home and travel. Challenging but a wonderful life for children

Yes the children love it, but sometimes i also think he will need more stable friends instead of always movjng, but we have met the same people again and again, so its almost like a little family anyway ❤ i do miss homesteading and gardenjnb from time to rime though!

Pros and cons for all lifestyles. But way better than city living!

I Love that your doing these posts and im gutted that I rarely manage to catch them! I know that soon you will meet someone I know Its certain to happen which will be fun! resteemed! :)

Haha, great! thank you :D
