bamboo can help to prevent flood and landslide

Bamboo is a friend of both soil and water, and itcan do a lot of good for its immediate environment. Bamboo also can control landslides and keep flooded rivers along their natural course. Bamboo contributes to both soil and water retention.

Some types of bamboo die after fruiting and some. do not flower until they are about 30 years old. In many places like philippines bamboo used as wood for contuction wood, furnature, utensil, fiber and paper.

Bamboo is great for invironment as it is known to produce up to 35% more oxygen tha trees therefor absorb much carbon dioxide. During the growth spurt a bamboo will start with new shoots from the ground which will grow to full height in two tree months. During peak growth a bamboo shoot can grow up to one meter per day.

Here in the philippine other used bamboo spurt for food and we call it dabong. Some people take the bamboo spurt and bring it to our public market in sale the bamboo spurt.

That is not noodles! That is shredded bamboo shoots stir- fried with some oil and chili sauce! Young bamboo shoots are a delicacy. I have lots of bamboo in my garden and we eat it all the time!
