FOUR-WHEELER GOES DOWN-A HOMESTEAD UPDATE

in homestead •  4 years ago

NO START

The four-wheeler that is our main workhorse. And recently, it had started making a lot of noise whenever we were trying to start it. After talking with a friend who works on motorcycles for a living it owns his own company doing so, I feel pretty good about the fact that it must be the starter that was bad. And after removing it I was very certain..

The above picture shows what the teeth that engage the flywheel to start it look like. About a third of all of them were broken so it definitely needed replaced.

EASY PEASY

There were only two bolts holding it and on and they came out easily. And then there was one nut holding the wire to the starter from the battery, it also came off easily.

It took about twenty minutes to replace and it started right up without any problems (or noises)!!!
