BUSY AS BEES
That's what we have been. The weather has been nice and with the uncertainty of the future we are in full swing trying to get the homestead liveable.
THE STORAGE SHED
It now has all it's walls and the door. This is one of the big hurdles I've been wanting to accomplish and now it mostly done I can move forward. It was about 30° F(-1°C) last night and we spent the night in the shed instead of the tent to stay warm.
It worked very well and we were not the least bit cold. The hardwood floor felt amazing to sleep on as well.(I hate our soft bed and think it may be the cause of some of my back problems.)
SOME SHED PICS
*As it neared completion.
*Evan adding the camoflauge to help hide it.
*What the shed started as a couple weeks ago.😆 I look at that picture and think about the fact I started this project with snow on the ground...it makes me smile.
WE HAVE POWER....IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS.
The shed being completed allowed me to move on to the next big project...our solar array. This hurdle being overcome will allow for us to have power at the Homestead. This will help tremendously as we will have the ability to use power tools and have a fan to help keep us cool.
We don't have the money for all the fancy brackets and mounts so I had to make my own. It was simple enough and putting those two panels together, making the mount and installing it in the ground only took a few hours.
Inside the shed is where all the electronics of the system go. After hooking everything up I gave it a test run and it worked beautifully! The charge controller comes with a real nice display that let's me keep track of a lot of important information including how much electricity the panels are making, how much power I'm using and how charged the battery is.
*Anyone up for a cup of coffee? 😆
