Why And How I Make Colloidal Silver

in homestead •  7 years ago

This is simply my story. Choices I have made, things I have done. You may consider this an anecdote about silver from your friend @longsilver. You may consider this a tale of wilderness medicine by Sir Thrival, faithful guardian of the 3 princesses of The Mesa (my granddaughters.) Please do not consider it medical advice, it is a story. What you do with the information is entirely your responsibility.

When my daughter was about 7, she kept getting strep throat. She had taken all the antibiotics and it kept coming back. The doctor wanted to do a tonsillectomy. My wife and I did not want surgery done on our child, so we started looking at our options.

My father in law was a pharmacist and in his extensive library were his old textbooks. I began to search through them and came across the various forms that silver was used as an antibiotic. I knew about silver nitrate ointment, they had put it in my daughter's eyes at birth but I did not know about any other forms or uses for silver.

This was before the internet, or at least before the internet in my life. I did find instructions on a crude method for making it and we used it on my daughter.

Her recurrent strep throat went away, she has her tonsils to this day. Now I only use this method for a surface disinfectant or for the animals. It creates colloidal silver with large particles, and that CAN collect in the skin and turn people blue if they consume it. For external use, it is fine. If it is the only antibiotic you can get, blue is better than dead. I have three pregnant cows, so I will be making some over the next few days to keep on hand for birthing. There are techniques for making higher quality colloidal silver at home that I will go into in the future. For now I want to share the easiest, cheapest method.

I want to repeat, there IS a risk of turning blue if you consume this type of silver. When I want to take silver myself, I buy Sovereign Silver brand. That is just a brand I use and trust, not anyone who pays me for an endorsement. I will be upgrading my equipment soon, but I want people to know the "down and dirty" method for emergencies. I also ask people to read the package inserts on their antibiotics. They will find that there is a risk for anaphylactic allergic reactions to all antibiotics, and people can and do die from that reaction. Again, blue or dead? Your call.

It is CRITICAL that you use pure silver. If you need to buy silver, bullion is great although it will remove microscopic amounts. To be ethical, once you select bullion for medicine, do not try to use it for bullion again. I like to "buy local" even with my metal and really like Sunshine Mint with micro-engraved mint-mark.

Again, not a paid endorsement, but SilverDoctors.com has consistently had the best price I have found on silver for years. Wherever you get it, your silver MUST be 99.999% pure. Standard jewelry and old coins will NOT do! Use only pure bullion or extra-fine jeweler's wire!

In addition to silver (PURE silver!) you will also need three 9 volt batteries, two double ended alligator clips, a pyrex container and distilled water. Hook the batteries together (see photo below.) Hook your alligator clips to the leftover battery terminals and attach silver strips to open ends of alligator clips.

Securely suspend your silver wires so they hang into the container of distilled water.

They MUST NOT TOUCH. Left at room temperature, it should take about an hour before you notice the water is turning a faint golden color, indicating you are done.

As the reaction happens, a string of black crystals may start to build a bridge between the silver wires. Take a wooden or plastic spoon and stir gently to break that up, do NOT let it build up and connect your wires! You may gently heat the container to speed up the process.

We allowed a bit of precipitate to begin to form to get a picture. It will make our end product just a bit cloudier and more brown than golden but it is still fine for external use. Protect from light until use.

This stuff works, and it does not turn you blue.

You're obviously good at making this stuff but once in a blue moon I screw up with simple stuff I've done thousands of times before. I don't trust myself with it, so rather than risk living decades with blue skin, Alex Jones sells it with great quality control.

Wonderful information and super easy to understand the process. When using it for an external antibiotic, how is it applied and how often is it applied? I assume it’s applied to scrapes, cuts and wounds?

Topically every 2-3 hours unless you have soaked a dressing in it. You assume correctly. Making internal quality colloidal silver will be an upcoming post and it can be put in ears, eyes nose and taken orally.

I’ll be watching for it. I’ve just recently become interested in colloidal silver, so the timing of this post is spot on!

Great post. More people should know about the wonders of Colloidal Silver.
I've been using it internally and externally for years, though I get it from a local guy and don't make it myself.
I recently used it to cure a septic finger, which a GP assured me needed an oral antibiotic.

Thanks for your comment, I have a license to worry about and I can't really say that, but I can agree with you.

Whoa. That was awesome.

Also,

Blue or dead. Your call.

Perfect. 😍

I totally have never thought about doing this at home. Not that we have a bunch of Silver laying about. 😏

We just recently started using (quite successfully), Silver Bullet from Infowarsstore.com Pretty great stuff.

I am not too worried about blue skin any more. Store bought and well made colloidal silver are not likely to discolor skin. The silver wire needed to make this is available at

$42 an ounce which would last a lifetime.

Sweet! Thank you!

Greetings Longsilver! Our rigs are slightly difference but the mechanics of them are the same. Main difference is, I use popcycle sticks and silver eagles, lol. I got you request to add to our database and I will get it added ASAP. We are just getting started and I don't officially have a page for it yet, but VERY soon! Thank you for submitting it. Together we can compile all the information that will help everyone around the world become better able to take care of themselves and their families. Thanks again and have a GREAT day!

That was my "emergency medicine" level silver lesson, I was planning on showing high quality production methods next. Thanks for the support! My wife and I were just discussing having me focus my blog on wilderness / emergency medicine. Our goals seem quite synchronous, I hope for a long and fruitful relationship!

That would be GREAT! Anything we don't have a category for, we can add one. I love Steemit but the search function is infantile. Through Sotall, we will have everything laid our with links back to the original articles on Steemit and categorized. I literally just started it yesterday, but I am going to put every penny it earns into getting the account up to $500 asap, then I am going to look to hire a script writer to get all of this put into a database that we can search by every category we can think of. We have only just begun but great things are coming! You are actually my first member I did not already know, lol.

"Infantile." That was polite... lol! And I am honored!

Great demo! I remember using the silver on the poor old chicken that had been pecked so badly she had a hole in her back. She healed beautifully. It is amazing stuff. I've used it for sore throat, colds, cuts and kitty scratches. Looking forward to the next episode.

Very helpful guide, good sir :)

I do not believe I may have a use for colloidal silver anytime soon, but better prepared than resentful later, right?

I will be making a note of this link for future reference.
Thank you for sharing this helpful info :)

P.S: I'm glad to hear your daughter was able to recover without undergoing surgery...my family generally prefers not to go under the knife either.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I hope you don't need medicinal silver too but it is very easy to make or buy. Have a great day.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

Yes, your instructions are quite lucid. Very straightforward.

Have a great day.

Likewise, sir :)
