The house we bought with the land by the lake, is in bad shape; but it is the finest house I ever bought for nothing (he threw it in when I bought the land). I was doing demolition work inside with a friend from church, and we got hot, so we went out on the back porch for a cool drink. While we are sitting and cooling off, five deer grazed past 30 yards away, and ignored us. They live there, we are just visiting, LOL! They were beautiful to see, even if they did eat most of the comfrey I planted.
The oak tree out front of the house is a full 4 foot in diameter on the trunk, and shades the entire house. With the breeze off the lake, and in this shade it is 10 degrees cooler on that porch! If this keeps up; I may get to the point that I really like this place. It matched our requirements, it is 30 miles from a large town, we paid cash for the entire thing, we are close to a major lake, and the neighbors are a pretty good walk away.
The house is being modified for wheelchair access for my Love, adding new HVAC systems, replumbing it for grey water, hyper-insulating it for energy efficiency, and rewiring it for Solar power, as well as repairing the basic house structure.
Life never gets boring, beside nobody gets out of this life alive anyway, ROFLOL; so we should at least enjoy the ride! :)
