What Is The Real Cost? Moving Forward!

in homesteading •  6 years ago  (edited)

Today was one of those days I wish I was one of those big YouTuber making all that big money and have a rich mom and dad or a million other things.  I am tired and hurting, we had to dig a 6x6 ft hole 6 feet deep the last couple of days for a septic tank. Trying to do everything debt free is a hard road to go down with a very limited monthly paycheck.

Still have to dig the field lines and the line going to the septic tank. Field lines are going to have to be 40-foot lines and there is going to have to be 2 of then according to the inspector. All this digging is being done by hand as we do not have the available cash to rent a backhoe or buy one. The septic company wanted over 3 thousand dollars to put it in. The prices here have risen over 50% of what they were last year.

I did not get any pictures as it was too dark to get any when we called it a night, I did try! If I can get up and move around tomorrow, I will get some and edit on this post and add one of the hole we had to dig for the septic tank.

Yes, That is a 10 foot ladder in the hole!

I checked on renting a backhoe for a week and it was over a $1000.00 dollars and a used backhoe in the area I am in is around $10,000 dollars. I need to start a gofundme campaign to get a backhoe for the homestead. LOL. NOT! Those never work and it just would not feel right. I am trying to think of some way to raise money to get a backhoe though, just not sure how to do it so people can get a product or something for the money they provide.

Well, it has been a rough day and I am worn out so I will be off to bed and getting rested up because tomorrow is another day. I hope everyone has a good day/night, whatever it is in your neck of the woods.

Septic tanks ARE not easy to dig... nor cheap to pay someone else to install. I had to have two put in years ago at different houses and... WOW! So expensive!

Hope you recovered from all that hard work.

I am recovering but they are not done yet. Just got the place where the septic is going is dug. Still, have all the lines to dig. Then a couple more to go.

If there is a will there is a way.

However that being said, if there are ways to sell somethings in your region for some STEEM / SBD maybe that could have been a good idea too to later sell the crypto in the future while you can power up to earn curation rewards.

Wishing you all the best in your project

This account of mine is trying to think and share of ways in how to incorporate crypto into a parallel ecosystem that works like a plan B when fiat is short.

Maybe you might have some ideas of my sharing that could help you to connect with other Steemians around your area to create a homestead support center to be debt free in the future.

There are not many others in my area that are on Steemit. I tried to setup a meetup in the area and no many around me. So I am on my own, so to speak, I just keep on trying to move forward till I cannot anymore. Thanks and have a great day.

I do hope that you will meet up with like-minded people soon in the future
