THIS WAS A HOLY SMOKY JOB ( ALASKANS )

in homesteading •  7 years ago

Gary just tried to meet with his students at CIA, and found out none of them are in class today because Mr. Steve Peterson got an extended moose permit for his outdoor education class, and he shot a moose on the playground, and the class is out butchering it!! Now, tell me what other school your kids could do this at!! So cool!!!

From the teacher: The ADFG encourages the educational aspect of such a harvest and it is a time honored tradition for Alaskans. The butchering was used as a "lab" for Mr. Leaf's Science

And this just in from the school secretary,Soon after, kids ran streaming from practically every class to get a good look and then the field dressing began! A lot of kids came in to grab their phones so I'm sure there will be lots of pictures.
They ended up building a fire and cooking some of the meat out there and letting everyone who wanted a bite try some."
