greatkid Homesteading : early way to teach responsibility while having fun (kid's way)

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

The great passage from the bible is my way of raising a child. I would start from an early age to discipline a child.

Proverbs 22:2
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, hw will not depart from it"

Though I can never say I am a perfect mom..actually I am never been that good. I may not be the best but trying to be the best and doing what you know is best will always be a great thing to do. If you knew what is right and you will not do it...in the long run, you are not the good figure that you want and ought to be. To be good you should  know the good things...you should also do it. Though sometimes setting rules is not much healthy to the kids (but that is their own perception...!!!)

But still it's my way of being "ME"

It's a project for greatkid in school to have a pet..well I choose a chick instead...the teacher agreed to it. They have to feed and take care their pet for a week and after that bring it back to school for evaluation if they did the right thing.

This is greatkid pet chick. He named them "Frozen And Panday". He is  very diligent as to the rules of his teacher. After a week we brought the chick back to school and he the teacher gave a favorable comment. They even made a drawing of their pet...greatkid is very happy about it.

we brought it back home...that comes in my follow up. I told him to continue raising the chick and let it grow to become a chicken. He asked me why? I answered him...it will help us to have meat in the future. He is very excited doing it..this time its not for the grade but for something more challenging..he said he wanted to let it grow BIG.

homesteeding at an early age...

what is homesteading?

the wikipedia defines it as

"  a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of foodstuffs, and it may or may not also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craftwork for household use or sale.”

He feeds the chicks daily...the chick have a small cage. I prefer to make him a small cage than a big one...so that he can feed his chick easier than with a big cage. He might fell at times...

and everyday he do it...

He gave water to the chicks...

He cleans the cage...and feed them...sometimes , he does it outside the cage.

He let the chick play outside the cage and play with them.

He makes sure he close the cage after his activities. He feeds the chicks twice a day. He enjoy doing this thing...I can see it. he is improving it's day. I hope that he will carry out the discipline and sense of responsiblity even after he grows to be a man,

Starting at an early age to be responsible is a way of life. In the long run this will be his practice and he will carry it throughout his life.

Greatkid or XEDRICK LOISE is always a child and I see it that way...the only thing is training him at an early  age should be done with onhands training. as if we are playing.a two chick won't hurt anyway...I am also there to guide him go through ..I did it so that he may knew how to live his life in the future.

Nice way to teach kids about responsibility.

thanks...hope you like my method

Yes, my mom-in-law gave my little one ducks, and pretty much they have the same responsibility with your kid. Methinks, I am inspired to write about it as well. Could I?

I think this is superb. It has given me ideas for my small boy.

Go my dear....help him to be a man

such a good way to teach our child on how to be responsible and how to take care of those animals
