Most of us in North America have been experiencing some pretty frigid temperatures as of late.

To combat these temperatures we had to do some extra insulating of our less cold tolerate plants.

We also had to insulate around the base of our camper to keep the internal water lines from freezing up. Now I wonder how many mice and rats will enjoy the little cozy shelter I've built for them?

Unfortunately, our outdoor fridge wasn't insulated enough for the heat lamps to keep our stuff from freezing!

Wow - I always wondered if the eggs might freeze.

egg-cicle ;)

Can you fry those eggs? Either while frozen, or right after they thaw? Maybe just as scrambled?

I scrambled them. They were convincingly normal. Definitely would be chewy as over easy.

Throw in some spinach or kale, and I bet you cover all that real nice. Add bacon, and nobody would notice a thing.

bacon.
yesssss.

That is the first time I have heard or seen frozen eggs, that is a different long-term storage method, it should beat covering the shells with vaseline. [from my grandmothers time]

14 below zero in central Wisconsin this morning. It's actually quicker freezing ice cube trays outside that it is using the freezer. Stay warm!

Love those little helpers you've got!

You put a heat lamp in your outdoor fridge? That is a good idea. Is the lamp connected to a thermostat to control the temp in the fridge?

No I just made a little insulated room around the fridge and had a heat lamp on the outside that was left on and for the most part it kept everything from reaching the freezing point in the fridge until the other day and then everything in the fridge froze.

Frozen eggs! Cool. Some people do this intentionally to preserve the eggs for later use. Not fun if you weren't planning on it. Frozen water pipes aren't fun either. I am sure in spring you will find some new tenants living in your sub basement 😉
