A Pretty Bag of Tomatoes

in homesteading •  6 years ago

Timing was bad this year for the tomatoes in the Daddykirbs Garden. It got too hot too early. We were already hitting 100 degrees at the end of May. Normally my tomato plants will start producing nicely by the end of May then start shutting down in the middle of June when the heat ramps up.

Now my garden is confused. Does it produce or shut down?

Well, its about to give up since we are now hitting 100 most every day. However! We are getting a nice flush of tomatoes before it all dries up and withers away.

I am still getting some here also but they are slowing down..

Nice little haul...looking forward to when my plants will be giving me some fresh vegetables!

La tierra siempre generosa casi para terminar la cosecha sigue dando sus frutos. Felicitaciones.

Que ricos tomates @daddykirbs a cocinarrrrr.

I'm pretty sure it's a "Maritime" thing but if you have lots of green ones you can make a preserve called Chow Chow with them (basically pickled green tomatoes and onions)

Well that's why Kirbs and I see that the theme of the week will be tomatoes! I will prepare my article

Very beautiful tomato! (^_^) I Love it!

Wow, crazy heat! The month May was very hot here in the Netherlands as well.
Glad you still managed to get some juicy tomatoes!

WHAT MORE BEAUTIFUL TOMATOES
I THIS YEAR ANIME AND CREATE MY OWN TOMATO GARDEN
