Where did the time go!?

The past few days have been filled with busy moments and windows of opportunity.
The weather is "seasonal", almost warm, and that will bring the snow!

Lots of snowmobiles are going through the trails, and I need to patrol and make sure our property boundaries are being respected, and no damages are done.

The first couple of years were not fun. Some people were actually very disrespectful and threatening. Their great great great great great grandfather's always hunted this land and they had the right to continue. Of course there are always the curious ones, that want to see what the "No trespassing, Private property, beware of dogs signs" are hiding.

People are much better and are being more respectful, since I have been stewarding here. Once they placed bets to see how long I would make it out here alive. Lol I won!! Many still think I am crazy!

So, we found chaga. On our walk.

And lots of bunny tracks. :)

The fox have a pup. They are getting very close and brave. I have to sit with the solution to that. When the chickens are setting in the spring, it could be catastrophic for us.

The one track I did not see, and it saddens me, is the great grandfather moose tracks. Or any moose tracks for that matter. Grandfather is as big as a dually quad cab truck. I have only seen him once. It scared me, because I didn't know what to do. Or if he was going to kill me. They are so silent. Amazingly majestic beings.
His tracks are the size of serving platters. He had fathered many babies. But I have not seen one moose track this year. :(

The partridge are alive and well. The dogs love to flush them out, and I have seen them come out and eat with the chickens. They even like the fermented food! Lol

It was nice to skidoo and snowshoe through the bush. Next time I will have to take pictures. We are home to a nice pot of soup. Being here is so good for the soul.

We all fall off occasionally. Life seems to get in the way...
I know what you mean about people not respecting private property. We used to get that all the time when we lived in Canada. Used to ride their snowmobiles within feet of our door. Oh, Didn't know anyone lived here! Right. Same in the fall,we cae home from church and found a bus load of folks picking corn in our field! Some people's children...

Bahaha!!! Picking your corn!! By the bus load!! Omg i am still laughing!!
You so get it!!
Huge love to you!!

Love your blog. and the colors of that chaga are so beautiful.

So great to see you here!!!

Wow - not seen chaga for 30 + years :) Do you use it for making tea or for medicine?

I do make a tea!! I also make a chaga tincture in sherry. I prefer it over vodka for this particular remedy. :) Do you have chaga in Australia? I suspect it's not cold enough?
I admire you for being brave with all the poisonous snakes!!! Lol

Actually, I've not even seen a silver birch tree since i got to Australia 10 years ago, so unless it can be found in the mountains, who knows.
The sherry sounds really nice, sitting by the fire with a good book and a good sized sherry.. LOL
Snakes don't scare me, or the big spiders that are bigger than your hand, but the two inch cockroaches and the 12 inch centipedes freak me out. LOL

What an adventure! Chaga looks so good. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you @cheneats!! Its such a beautiful medicine. So good to hear from you!! Congratulations on your progress on steemit!! Well done!!! :)

Thank you @earthmother!! It's all because of our group support. I need to thank you, too :-) Now we just need to consistently and persistently continue to write from our own heart.

Agreed!!!

This post is making me a hungry! Beautiful mushroom, it's almost like gold. I enjoy how this post has a way of putting the reader at your homestead. I hope the moose tracks reveal themselves soon!

Thank you so much. I truly enjoy sharing our story. The land i steward is so rich. It's amazing how everyday i am in awe. I do miss the moose energy. Praying for their safe return.

You definitely got something from your outing/adventure. I love to have a taste of the pot of soup

Wish i could bottle you up some!!!
Xo5Xoxo

Hmmm.. not too many of those kinda folk in my neighborhood... me thinks Im the one every one else worries about wanderin on to there lawn spotting small animals or something cool.

Makes me wonder where your located..

I am in northern ontario!
Love your blog posts. You get some pretty cool shots.
That would be fun to try here sometime, would love to see the wolves move.
Do you ever have issues with privacy on other people's property?

I am sure there are folks out there, but for the most part no one bothers or even notices I am up in the air.

I don't invade people's privacy so no one gets upset.

Tracking all sorts of animals where you are would be epic! And the open air!
