With no big tree to decorate this year, I am making the most of the few decorations I have for around the house. Sunday was to be a stormy day, so I put on my Christmas music and got down to making the house festive.

This little tree was a Charlie Brown tree I got at a tag sale. I fixed it up and made little decorations for it. I found tiny chains to be garlands and put one of my very short strings of lights on it. I get to enjoy the lights each morning and evening in my office.

Another tag sale find for my office. These are the only decorations in it, besides the candles in each window.

In the kitchen I hang these decorations from the shelf. The barnboard wall on the other side of the room has a princess pine swag I renew each year, and several of the Christmas cards my sister made. They are the more delicate ones, and usually the bigger ones.

In the living room, I use the smaller sturdier cards to decorate the support posts by the hearth.

I also hang the hand knit stockings on the posts as we still don’t have a mantle… The bells on the back door chimes prettily when wood is brought in for the fire.

This stocking was knit by my grandmother 63 years ago.

I’ve recently gotten Christmas linens from BuyNothing. This table runner was one.

The Christmas pony was a gift from my sister. My husband made the birch bark candle stand in Cub Scouts many decades ago. The rest came from BuyNothing.

The little tree with presents was another Charlie Brown tree I fixed up. My favorite Christmas pony from my sister, my jingle bell pony, is in pride of place. The elves and bottle brush trees came from my uncle’s estate.

Not a lot of stuff, but much of it is special.

Sadly, I don't decorate for the holidays anymore. Ever since all the kids moved out... maybe one year I will again. It's just not the same

There are some things I do for myself. I enjoy the season a huge amount, so I do it for me. This is a kindness I do for myself.

Good morning @goldenoakfarm, your home looks so great with all the decorations up. I agree with you about doing it for yourself. Just the doing, makes me happy, as I too have decorations from years ago and enjoy remembering the story with each ornament.
Christmas is so different from when we had small kids in the house, but the joy of the holiday is still there for me.
Enjoy!
