Tuesday my helper friend was here and we tackled the laundry room. In addition to supplies and equipment, I also store all the window treatments here.
We took everything out, vacuuming and dusting each thing as we went. He vacuumed the walls and ceiling while I dusted and cleaned the wall pictures. Then he used a damp mop to wash the walls down. The condensation in the summer makes the dust stick, so they need washed down. I dusted and wiped on some furniture polish on the old fashioned ironing board while he did that. I’d also put the curtains in the washer.
The floor was vacuumed and we moved the dryer out to get all the lint under it. The washer was left in place, as it had been balanced for the spin cycle. I scrubbed the floor down while he went and checked the house plants for scale and sprayed the ones that needed it. While I waited for the floor to dry so I could wax it, I went out and filled the bird feeders. They sure go through some feed every couple days!
Around noontime I headed up to put the first coat of wax down. My husband had gone to the library and brought back a book Bitten about Lyme disease. While I waited for the floor to dry I started reading it.
A couple hours later I put a second coat on and by late afternoon it was time to move all the stuff back in. it sure is nice to have it all clean and shining, even for a little while.
That makes 2 areas finished. On Thursday we will tackle a bedroom.
love it. I def could use a laundry makeover-

It didn't get made over, everything went right back where it was. The makeover happens when the new laundry room gets done, a long time from now....
