Bedroom - spring cleaning crop Jamuary 2020.jpg

My helper friend was here on Thursday and we tackled a bedroom. We got all the pictures off the walls and all the glass things needing washed into the bathroom.

I got the first load of bedding in the washer and started washing glass things. He vacuumed the walls and ceiling. I changed the load in the washer over to the dryer and started cleaning pictures so they could be hung up, freeing the bed so we could put other stuff on it as we worked.

Once the pictures were hung, we tackled the closet. We took everything out and vacuum and dusted it and put it back. I worked on the louvered doors, dusting and polishing, while he vacuumed.

When we’d finished the closet we took a tea break then came up and tackled the bed, vacuuming the mattresses and the frame and underneath it. It has a wood slat platform my dad made and is too heavy to move so we each get on a side and guide the vacuum brush back and forth over each slat. The mattresses were flipped end for end and over.

Next we started on furniture, vacuuming then dusting and polishing. He did one wall while I worked along another. He finished his, but I didn’t finish mine. It was time for him to go, so we’ll finish up on Friday.

I finished washing up the glass stuff, ironed and starched the linens (not bedding), and tidied up a bit. The bedding finally finished and the bed was made up. Whew! That was a good day’s work!

Sort Order:

I am assuming you do spring cleaning inside during the winter because you are too busy with the farm during spring? It always feels good to have a clean room. : )

Yup, once I get my chicks ordered, the seed orders in, and the bulk amendment orders done, I start cleaning. Somewhere in there I get the end of the year stuff done too.

There is always something to be done. I just love how neat and orderly you are with everything. How many chicks are you getting?
P.S. I thought I was the only one that said, "Yup!" : )

There will be 90: 40 Australorps, 35 Barred Rocks, 15 Buff Orpingtons, hopefully all pullets....

We're due cleaning up as well. I need to declutter and reduce the amount of things we have laying around not being used.

Wow! That's a ton of work, well done! Spring cleaning feels so good, doesn't it? Makes you just want to hang out in that room.
