    great content me and my friends bought a property for 78k and we board horses for people to take care of the property tax and get the eggs from the chickens. Your content is awesome and its amazing to see the challenges other homesteaders face and how they handle the situation.

      I'm too old to start something like this, but if I make the money, I want to buy a plot of land, say about 15 ha, with a house on it. I then will grow fruit and veg and have some chickens and ducks. The reason: I want to have GMO free and pesticide free food. Whatever my family and I don't eat...two ways to go, either start a farm stall, or else, supply an orphanage, so as to increase the chances of a few kids growing up healthy.

        That is a very noble goal. I'd love to have enough surplus to give away like that. Maybe some day. I suppose when these fruit trees start producing I will have more apples/pears/cherries than I know what to do with, and at that point I can give away. Thanks for the comment.
