Homesteaders - Living Naturally, Newsletter. 12th June 2019

in homesteading •  6 years ago

Welcome back to another week of homesteading and natural living news. Things are ticking over nicely in the communities and we are continuing with the features from community founders, in the hope that everyone can find a community with their favourite interests.

This week's community feature

@freedomtowrite on @theinnerblocks

The Inner Blocks! A place to build yourself one block at a time!

Presented to you by The Yeti (@freedompoint) and Stacie D (@freedomtowrite)

The Inner Blocks is a community and dApp that hosts quality, self- reliant content measured by personal experience. The focus is on first-hand accounts of your own adventure! Whatever you are doing that helps you to become the best version of yourself.

On our site, theinnerblocks.com, our goal is to create a comfortable space for you to create and share your life with others. Although we are still in the development stage, we are proud of where it is going and we are excited to roll out big changes that will make it feel homier than ever!

Since The Inner Blocks is focused on the person behind the content, the blocks that make each of us, we really understood that there was a lot of hard work already being done on the Blockchain. So many individuals have set out to create communities to bring people together. With this heart in mind, we wanted our community and dApp to be a place where the leaders of those communities can come together and have a home. We would like to highlight these Great Communities by giving them their own categories and tags. This way others will be able to find their content easier, and they won’t be lost in the huge sea. So with that train of thought, we would love for The Inner Blocks to be a centralized hub where these communities can come together.

We are excited as The Inner Blocks continues to grow and develop. We are so thankful for all of the support we’ve been given through tag use, footer use and delegations! Thank you!

Things happening in the community.

Welcoming Newcomers

@dragonfart joined us in April and has been sharing some of their urban gardening experiences.

Another new arrival in April is @zaidaguevarae. She is passionate about the art of making soap, cross stitch embroidery, cooking, making jewelry pieces.

Some highlights of the week

There is something appealing about flowers as food, so I couldn't go past @walkerland's article on using the lilac flower.

Homesteading isn't easy and sometimes it's helpful to hear about the things that can go wrong, as hard as they might be to hear. @squareonefarms shares a heartbreaking story about when things go wrong.

It seems I'm not the only person who loves their lemongrass, however, I haven't really looked into its medicinal benefits yet. So it was good to hear some of @zaidaguevarae's knowledge on it in this post about her favourite medicinal plant.

@bo-sirithip shares a recipe for a delectable looking vegan green curry.
