Cubic Mini Woodstove first fire

So its been a while, since I made the decision to purchase this little wood burner. It came from Canada, and took well over a month to arrive. Thankfully, it was still early fall, and I hadn't needed to use any source of heat. I later ordered the mount (not shown in video), and it too took quite a while to get here. Since then, It has been in operation, almost daily. There are a lot of pros, and cons, about it.

Starting with the pros, It is tiny! If I remember correctly, it weighs 27lbs. This means that it could be easily packed in and out of a remote cabin, where you wouldn't want to leave valuable items. It can either be mounted on a wall, set on a fire proof surface, or mounted on a stand. The firewood must be small, so branches and twigs, are ideal for its fuel. Cooking is possible, although the surface isn't that big. It has a secondary combustion feature, that gives a more thorough burn of the fuel.

Now for the cons.... It costs around $500 usd. Replacement parts take quite a while to get, which could put the stove out of use for the duration of shipping. Because of its small size, the fire wood must be reloaded often. Usually within an hour and a half. (depending on the kind and condition of the wood) While there is a cooking surface, it is very small. This limits the size of the pots and pans that are useable. There is no separate ash cleanout door, or chamber. This means that you have to scoop out the ash, with a small shovel, and if youre doing this while the unit is in use, you must pick and choose between ash and the hot coals.

With everything being said, this is still a pretty neat little wood burner. It comes from www.cubicmini.com This model is the cub. Its great for very small areas, but I sure wouldn't try to heat up an entire house, with one of these.
