We let him out for 3 hours a day and come back to fetch him, always legs up and half buried in my clay pot, under my curry tree.
Is it normal or does my rooster think he is a human?
Note:
He is neither dead nor stabbed through the heart by a stake.

ok cool, it would be cool to see a rooster as a pet, do they cuddle?

It may look weird but our chickens do that here too, it's their own way to cool themselves especially when they feel warm or when the weather is hot.

From your picture I would guess maybe not a lot of dirt or yard area? Ours will dig down and roll in the dirt as island-girl had mentioned to cool themselves. I can't tell from the picture but if that is the only dirt available to him then that is a good chance why he chooses the pot. I bet the first couple times he did that you thought he was dead for sure. LOL I thought from the picture he was dead.
