Hi everyone! Ola steemit! Sharing you how every month goes well.
September might be a good month for a home and farm growers since the weather is warm but I guess that October is an interesting month; I have seeds to sow and plants to get out on the plot, but have held off till next month in hope the weather will improve.
I have sowed some Cucumbers and Courgettes that are keeping warm in my new propagator thanks to my mother, I also got three Tomatoes plants and an Aubergine plant from my friend whos also a fan of homesteading. I went to her flat to pick them up and could not believe how well she is doing growing lots of different things.. thumbs up ;-)I know I said I was not going to do Tomatoes but I could not resist taking them.
She makes the best cakes. Thank you for the chocolate loaf it was lovely nom nom! I got a new DVD in the post a present from mom called- Grow your own, its a homegrown comedy starring a host of British stars. I really enjoyed it well worth a watch.
Also down on the plot the other week I noticed there were Artichokes starting to grow on the plants I planted last June.
I was not sure how they would turn out but, they are looking good and I can't wait to eat them.
Here are some facts about Artichokes you might want to know -
The Artichoke is technically a flower bud that has not yet bloomed.
One Artichoke plant can produce more than 20 Artichokes per year.
So here's how planting started.
I absolutely love gardening, harvesting, planting.. you name it, I love it.
But I have to agree, fall is the best time. This is when I prepare for next season, look over my errors, save seeds and start new indoor gardening projects.
This year I am having my first indoor winter garden. LOVE it!
