Berry time in Oklahoma

in homesteading •  8 years ago

I have been growing blackberries for seven years. I have approximately 500 vines, along with strawberries, grapes, goji berries and winter hardy kiwi fruit. I like to call it Knotheads Berry Farm,(But just to myself, I don't want to be sued by those other guys). It has been a particularly rough year for my blackberries. I have battled a fungus and bugs to the point of exhaustion. Normally I produce about 3000 lbs of berries a year, but this year I will only have enough for my family to eat. My goal at this point is to nurse them back to health and get ready for next year. Any suggestions would be appreciated. IMG_2345.JPGIMG_2341.JPG

A fellow Oklahoman, where is your farm located? I have no helpful advice to give there but look forward to following your developments. Keep up the work and keep us updated!

Thanks, I am in Weatherford. Looking forward to the spring
