Beautiful Cedar Final Photos

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

We finished with the final pour of our cedar mantels. This included a commercial grade epoxy that you will often see on bar tops in restaurants such as Applebees or Chili's. The result is absolutely beautiful wood that would look wonderful in any home.

I'm working on a website were we can offer these products and others like them for sale as a way to add an additional income source to the homestead. We have hundreds of large cedars on the property and new ones growing up all the time. This is mostly due to birds eating the juniper seeds. Seeds consumed by local birds are 3 times more likely to germinate a new cedar. So what we have here is a renewable resource that can provide us a steady income.

Enjoy the photos.

We think anyone would be proud to display one of these custom cedar mantels over their fireplace.

woow ,, amazing,
Such wood can be a promising work of hands, if marketed

Building a website for it!

Absolutely breath taking, sharing to show them off!

“Seeds consumed by local birds are 3 times more likely to germinate a new cedar.” Now there’s an interesting fun fact!

That's what I thought!

Remarkable work @mericanhomestead

THANKS!

Welcome

These are absolutely beautiful pieces of wood. Ever think of making rustic furniture with the cedar? I saw a cottage down up with cedar furniture. It was really cool!

There are lots of people doing furniture and it's hard to ship. Mantels are easier to ship.

I can understand the shipping problems. It is still a very beautiful wood.

Wow they looks great like epoxy rasin with 3d paint

Wow, that is some beautiful wood!

Thanks!

Just stunning! The grain is mesmerizing...

It almost has a 3D effect.

Can't vote.

Those are very beautiful. Sounds like a good side income source too.
