The new fuel cans being sold in stores these days are just ridiculous. They are a result of a US company going bankrupt in 2012. That company made most of the gas cans in the United States and around the world. It went bankrupt because of "stupid people"...something we have a lot of these days in America.

So because of "stupid people" the gas cans they sell in Wal-Mart and other Chinamart stores, have ridiculous safety gadgets that basically result in a non-functioning gas can! But there is good news.

The good news is that THIS IS AMERICA and we still do have some bright people left. A few entrepreneurs saw the need to replace these poorly engineered spouts with ACTUAL SPOUTS!

Check them out at GasSpouts.com for only $9.97 and YOU GET AN ADDITIONAL 20% OFF! Just use our special coupon code: AAH20off

Here's our experience with an expensive CHEAP gas can.

We had an experience where we ran out of gas (oops), pulled off to the side of the road, left the wife and kids to fend for themselves while I walked to the closest gas station, bought a 3 gallon can for $20 bux (what is that like 10 STEEM right now?) , filled it up, carried the thing back to the car and....

AAAAAARG. The thing would not pour! I dutifully followed direction, twisted the spout to the 'unlock' symbol, carefully tipped the can. NOTHING came out the spout at all. I struggled with this thing for at least 30 minutes. Oh the agony!

I walked ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE GAS STATION with a full gas can to buy a new one, or at least figure out what went wrong. I picked up a new can and discovered a green cap that had to be removed. Palm in face. SMH.

I have overcome many challenges in my life, but this one was particularly aggravating. If only I had gone to gasspouts.com and used the coupon AAH20off for 20% off, I would have made my afternoon much more pleasant. PLUG. :-)

Steem on and don't get frustrated.

thank gnu for that.
when I was on the truck I had to have some gas for my apu.
those damn things spilt gas everwhere..

Thanks for another great product with an honest review. I also Have been frustrated with the Gas cans.

Yeah trust me, I will give a product a bad review if I have too. This one is a no brainer.

I remember seeing news of the lawsuit that ran Blitz out of business.

The Plaintiffs argument seemed to hinge around the fact that Blitz gas cans were unsafe because there was no "safe" way to pour gasoline onto an open flame.

Fucking idiot jurors.

What? That's crazy! Sounds like a local restaurant here. A worker was injured and the insurance company canceled the restaurant's policy, even though the worker's negligence caused himself to get hurt. So the state found out and shut down my friends restaurant due to having no insurance. 60 year old family business passed down 3 generations-POOF, GONE.

I'm going to have to check this out, the can I have now is terrible and broke. The flow stopper switch doesn't work so I end up having to pour out the gas very slowly. I do remember the old gas can that my dad had growing up. Looked very much like this one.

It may have seemed something dumb to complain about, but I've been bitchin'bout the safety nozzle for a long time, both for being a mess, I dribble gas everywhere, I had to pour gas into a separate bottle to get it into my equipment and it's hard for me to hold a heavy full can to start with!!! mostly that this is our gov in action, making me buy an inferior product for my "safety". thanks for sharing this ingenious gizmo!!!!

Just ordered a couple of these to give them a try. Thanks for the heads up!

As always, more useful info we can all use! I can't wait to get to my homestead and trade ideas. I am just pining over some of my own land.

Very cool! Thanks

Great post! Unfortunate how a company can go down from some people being stupid! I hope things go well...

Thank you for sharing a great, logical review!!

stupid people ruining america everywhere we turn today.... can't even buy an anerican made jerry can any nore and have to suffer with idiot proofing on everything... thanks alot (i'd say dumbasses, but that would be an insult to the ass..)...

I have just been drilling holes in mine and plugging with a nail, I like this a whole lot better! Thanks Zac....

Just drill a hole, screw on a new nozzle and viola...you save your sanity!!! ha ha
I just saw one of these new versions a few months ago, for the first time. Talk about a headache to deal with! Thanks for showing us a sanity saving option Zach.

You forgot to read the notice on the package that says it is a replacement spout only for use on cans made before a certain date, I'm assuming in 2012 since I don't have it in front of me at the moment! Also, the instructions suggest using a stepper drill bit to get a more round hole for the air vent, which worked out pretty well.

The last go around with a 5 gallon gas can was when I went to top off a portable generator. The outside temperatures had warmed up since filling the can, so I loosened the spout to release the pressure. The thing still sprayed gasoline all over the generator like a fire hose! I had to pretty much remove the spout and actuate it by hand in order to release all the pressure it had trapped inside.

I'm not sure we have the same product. It mentions nothing about only on certain cans. Also, my instructions mention a stepper bit as one option OR a paddle bit for a perfect hole.

It's possible. I bought mine from a local chain store that shall remain nameless so as not to compete against your offer, but the labeling made it sound like it was actually illegal to install the spout on a newer fuel can that was originally equipped with an "anti-spill" spout.

Awesome! I can pour gas without wearing it. Thanks for the information and video.

These HAVE to be better than the spouts that come with the cans. Maybe my arm will stop going numb from holding a can in the air for twenty minutes.

Yep, thats what these are for. Totally worth it. I just ordered 5 more!

Just received mine yesterday and put it on my can... LOVE it and thank you so much for reviewing this product and being a trusted source!
