Farm Hack Project - Open Source Agriculture

in homesteading •  7 years ago

Homesteading and farming community is spread across the world. And all of them offer something different that can help generations. While searching for homesteading tool specific forum. I came across one community that shares how they are making and maintaining their own tools. And this type of knowledge can be really handy.

Let's say you want to build beehive boxes. And for that you're looking for the specific community.

Farm hack project can be of help if you're making some tools from scratch.

How can it help homesteaders?

If you have enough physical energy and want to create some tool, then you should definitely take a look at the farm hacks. You can learn how to make and maintain those tools. Though making everything from scratch means you have to spend time and need help from others. Homesteading and gardening community is perfect for this type of the project.

What problem does it solve?

Lot of knowledge about making tools and maintaining them is lost. And you have to dig really deep into youtube and other local community for this. And often you don't get clear information on that. Such projects if reach more people, they can be useful in making and maintaining the tools that are helpful for the farming.

My opinion:

Project such as this can be really handy. And a lot of new generation people can learn from such projects. And such skills won't get lost in due process. I'd say more in depth tutorial specific to homesteading community is a need in this time.

You can explore the farm hack project. You can attend their meetups and share and learn from the community.

Great info, thank you! We have many friends who are homesteading, and we are almost completely off grid. I love how resources and service become currency in these type of communities.
