STARTING MY MINI-BARN BUILD

in homesteading •  6 years ago

It's not finished yet, but I'm working on it!

For the past couple days, I've been spending some time on this project. Between other projects, duties, and tasks, I try to make some progress on this project.

I actually worked until after dark last night, so not everything that I accomplished is in these photos or in the video, but these should still give you a taste for it.

From cutting down my own cedar trees for the poles to figuring out how to put this together (since I have no blueprint or real plans outside my side), it's been an adventure so far and it looks like it'll work.

With the help of my trusty @little-peppers board by board this thing is getting built. Even though I am decades older than my small children, we are learning together. Once we are done, this building should be able to used as a shelter for animals, a storage place for various homestead things, and a milking parlor too.

The goats try to help too, but they mostly just keep us company or get in the way. Check out the video below for more about this project!

MINI-BARN BUILD VIDEO - Part 1

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

I'd make the same comment on them goats like I did on WeKu but they look pretty annoyed at me for some reason :)

LOL - Goats are like that!

It has that good rustic rural look.
Who need plans? Make it up as you go along, and alter what doesn't work as you go along.
The animals don't mind where they are milked, the stuff being stored just needs to be waterproof and off the ground.

Man, you are one of the best encouragers I know, plus you are full of wisdom and speak the truth, thanks!

Sorry, I am too old to be P C.
I was taught to speak straight, and I hope the kids have learned to do the same.
As long as you are having fun, and can eventually get it to work, what else matters?

Good Job, Team!....:)...

Thanks @jang!

This is amazing! I can't believe how satisfying it must feel harvesting your own cedar as building material! Don't be alarmed but it looks like you already have a wild animal climbing in your barn haha. Be well.

LOL! - Nice!

Good luck with your build! Love the shot with the animals standing around wondering what you're building for them! The milking parlor, that's for goats milk??

Goat and Cow milk!

Beautiful good luck! 🙏

The goats seem to be really vocal about your building process :D !

Oh yeah, they shout encouragement all the time!

Or maybe they have advices? :D

Wow that is an impressive barn structure @papa-pepper :)

I look forward to seeing how it progresses!

RESTEEMED!! I love your mini barn, what a great project! I make up things as I go along too@papa-pepper, like today having to make protective walls for my solar panels with a bunch of second hand wood. Sometimes things turnout the best when you leave it up to your imagination.🦋🌈❤️🍀

I love it! Just roll with it and figure it out!

That's awesome! It's looking great. I like your storage system for the lumber. That's really clever. :)

Man, the height on that ceiling is stressing me out. I've hit my head on enough things that I like plenty of clearance. Ha ha.

LOL - Mostly it'll be children and animals, so the height should be fine.

That's good. You want the eggs in the hen house, not on your head. They add up quickly. Also, just ask the NFL players: concussions are bad. :P

@papa-pepper is an hardworking man!

Hi papa-pepper,
That is a beautiful barn you got going there brother! Lovely wood too. Awesome location - you got it all going for you!

Upvoted and resteemed :D
