Greenhouse + Solar + Goats + More

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

Between family, planting, building, and tending to the animals, we've not had much time for Steem lately.

So, here are a few quick updates:

We've been working to put up a 20x60 greenhouse and plan on growing food year round!

We added a 70w solar fan for attic ventilation which has been awesome:

We had a goat transported to us from a few states away. This was our first experience with having an animal transported to us, but it was a great experience. goat.png

These goats are living the life!

While we've been planting many varieties of edibles this year, we ordered Honeyberry online and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the plant:

I agree! We are Mississippi.

it's a good project

Thank you

We're glad to see you back on Steemit! We know how challenging it can be to post when it's high season and you have a million projects on your plate. Your place is looking good. You'll have to do a follow up on the honeyberry, we were thinking of planting some too. -Aimee

Thanks @canadianrenegade! This time of year is insanely busy and all the rain is hindering the planting of the garden, but it will all get done eventually. We will let you know what we think about the honeyberry!

Looks like a lot of impressive work going on at the farm. Can't wait to see what that greenhouse will produce! It's tough balancing steemit and the real world, but it's great to see these updates. Also, how cool that you have turtles visiting, haha.

Thanks @soulturtle! All kinds of turtles! :) We can't wait to get the greenhouse finished up. We have so many amazing plans for growing crops and propagating fruit trees. For the first time ever, I think I'm looking forward to winter and not just because it's already hitting above 90 degrees outside.

That's awesome. I wish you the best on getting all that done. Do keep us updated whenever you find the time.
