New Sugarcane Stalks Sprouting Up EVERYWHERE After Irma

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

I was just taking a walk over by where the sugarcane used to be, and noticed 7-8 brand new sprouts coming from the downed sugarcanes (caused by hurricane Irma a few weeks ago!!!)

Mother Nature sure loves to stay alive, and I'm thrilled!

I'm going to end up with multiple times more cane than I would've otherwise!

I think I found another 2 that were very tiny, but how cool is this? These are all from just one downed cane. The thing I love about growing your own food is that it can be so easy to propagate, and I will always have a basically endless supply of sugarcane, granted i don't eat it too fast!!!

Thanks for stopping by, Steemians!

Thanks for the perfect post! @vegansilverstack

Enjoy and care your sugarcane coming from the heave, i know that the hurricane it is dangerous for every people who found near but it is a natural process from nature to fertilize and clean the soil.
Best your gif best regard @galberto

Sounds pretty sweet :P

Looks a lot like bamboo too!

I've got bamboo as well :D but you can eat sugarcane. You can eat bamboo shoots but I don't usually :D

I heard you have to soak the bamboo shoots overnight before they are really edible.

I was watching this episode of Food Ranger on YouTube and they made "Bamboo chicken" where they used the bamboo as a cooking device.
