Snakelike Caterpillar Emerges from Egg

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

Good morning, Steemians!

Yesterday I was passing by my Hamlin orange tree, when I noticed what I thought was a poop. I looked a little closer and it turned out to be a caterpillar emerging from an egg. I looked even closer, and noticed it resembled a snake.

Anyway, he was destroying new leaves that the orange tree was putting out, so I flicked him off the tree.

These are the types of pests and nuisances I have to deal with on my fruit trees. It's really not that big of a deal for me, but I could understand it being a huge deal if you were to have a much bigger operation.

Thanks for stopping by, Steemians! enjoy your weekend!
