Steemit HomesteadingChallenge #2

Last week’s challenge was rather philosophical and resulted in some pretty deep and thoughtful responses. So this week, I’d like to lighten things up by hearing about…

your most embarrassing homesteading story!

That’s right, we are going to laugh it up this week because to enter this challenge, you must write an article about your most embarrassing experience on the homestead! Did you step in pig shit lately? Almost lose your quails (I’m looking at you @farmstead haha)! Chase your kids (human or goat) around the yard? Whatever it is, I wanna hear about it!

Bonus points if you have a photo from the moment in question (but definitely not necessary to win)!

Please be honest and don’t make up some crazy story! I appreciate honesty more than anything!

You have ONE WEEK to write your submission for this challenge - please post it by 11:00 PM (CDT) [UTC offset: UTC -5] on Wednesday August 2nd, 2017 !

Don’t forget to include the #homesteadingchallenge tag in your article! This is how I will find the submissions! I will also try to comment on each submission to let you know that I have seen it and it has been entered into the running! If I do not comment on your submission within 24 hours, you may tag me (@kiaraantonoviche) in the comments! Or simply link your submission in the comments below!

Winner will be chosen the following day - Thursday August 3rd - and winnings will be paid immediately following this announcement post’s payout. An article announcing the winner with proof of the reward payment will be posted following the reward dispersement.

I’ll try my best to make this challenge (and future challenges) fun, inspirational, and most of all… worthy of your time!

10 THINGS YOUR NON-HOMESTEADING FRIENDS JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND:

  1. HOMESTEADERS ARE RATHER PROUD OF THE DIRT UNDER OUR FINGERNAILS
  2. HOMESTEADERS REALLY, TRULY LIKE HAVING A LOT OF PROJECTS GOING AT ONCE.
  3. FOOD YOU GROW YOURSELF REALLY DOES TASTE BETTER.
  4. HOMESTEADERS DON’T DO WHAT THEY DO TO MAKE ANYONE ELSE FEEL INFERIOR.
  5. GETTING THE FIRST EGG FROM YOUR FIRST CHICKEN IS A THRILL LIKE NO OTHER.
  6. HOMESTEADERS KNOW IT’S EASIER AND FASTER TO BUY STUFF AT THE STORE. BUT THEY STILL WANT TO MAKE IT THEMSELVES.
  7. HOMESTEADERS ARE NOT TRYING TO REENACT LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE
  8. HOMESTEADERS ACTUALLY LIKE LIVING A BAZILLION MILES AWAY FROM TOWN.
  9. SCOOPING POOP IS BETTER THAN THERAPY.
  10. IF HOMESTEADERS DON’T ANSWER THEIR PHONE, THEY'RE NOT IGNORING YOU ON PURPOSE!

TRUE! :)

This would have made a fantastic post!
All so true too!

I love this!

Here's my entry - sneaking in before the deadline I think :

About to post my entry!

Hey @kiaraantonoviche, here's my story for the homesteading challenge: https://steemit.com/homesteadingchallenge/@stortebeker/homestead-challenge-embarrassed-on-the-homestead
Didn't think I could find one, but here it is. I hope you like it.

I would love to participate but the only thing I can do right now is uraban gardening :-) A wonderful idea though! I will be looking forward to all the entries.

You can totally participate if you are a homesteader at heart! Just tell us a story from your urban gardening experience if you'd like!

G'day. This should be good. It reminds me of a time I made a real arse of myself. I just have to go back and find the photos, then everybody can laugh at me!!!!!

All right, another challenge! Nice. So let me think about what could have embarrassed me. See, I'm not very easily embarrassed, on the contrary. But that doesn't mean the situation hasn't been there...

Can't wait to read all the stories. We ALL have one (although some are tough to admit). This is a great idea! Thanks!

Hello, how are you ? nice post is very natural a challenge of laughs in situations embarrassed

P.S. I typically do not upvote my own articles. I am only upvoting this announcement article for the sake of increasing the SBD reward the winner will receive!

Upvote all you want! Posts take lots of time to compose and format... and contests like these take even more after-the-fact. You're worth more than your upvote, but should at least "pay" yourself what you can... even though you're donating this to the winner... Ehh.. you know what I mean. :) I'm a supporter of self-votes for posts.

Now.... to drum up the things which I have worked hard to suppress!!!!
