EASY DIY Homemade Laundry Detergent....under $20 and will wash up to 492 loads...that avg .04 (cents) per load.
How To make your own washing detergent!!!-Cog Hill Style
*Here are the Instructions Making Your Own Washing Detergent or Powder Detergent:
3 Bars of "Fels-Naptha"(TIP, Microwave this for a few seconds or a minute before grating, then Grate this with a cheese grater)
4LBS box of "Baking Soda"
4LBS Borax
3LBS 7oz box of "Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda"
3LBS of OxyClean or a Generic Brand of OxyClean
OPTIONAL- Smell good crystals(we normally do not add this to our laundry washing detergent, but tried it this time)
Grate the bars of soap(TIP microwave the bars for a few seconds-it makes it way easier to grate) & mix everything all together real good. We layer our ingredients so it will mix easily.
You only have to Use 1 Tablespoon of laundry detergent per load...No matter the size load, only use 1 heaping Tablespoon....that's it & it you CAN use it with your HE washers or front loading washers, or at least we do & have been for over 3+ years now.
We just love this laundry detergent recipe...and have been using it for years & years. Our clothes smell fresh & get really clean with this homemade washing powder!! And not only does this homemade laundry detergent clean well, it is so cheap to make. all the ingredients to make this washing powder is typically under $20 to make & usually washes up to 20 loads of dirty laundry...that equals only .04 cents per LOAD!!! and that is Cheap!

I'm very confused about the frequent use of borax in homemade detergent. It's banned in Denmark because it is toxic and if you go into a shop asking for it, they look at you as if you asked to be handed some napalm. Don't ask me how I know this.
Are you aware of any issues with borax?

I could be wrong but some who are good with science could use borax to make a bomb just like some bug poison can also be used as well. I never would have known this if it was not for some csi show and then the news :/ some years back

Hello! Try Biz in place of Oxy-Clean. A much better cleaner. Anybody scared of Borax, check out 'Earth Clinic" for info on it's safety and it's use as an anti-inflammatory; also kills parasites, bacteria, etc. Have a great day! :))
